⚠️Hazard and Operability Study (HAZOP)
A HAZOP systematically identifies all hazardous events emanating from a process or utility system.
This is done by:
identifying the causes of hazardous events
determining their consequences
identifying the safeguards in place
making recommendations for additional actions.
Types of HAZOPs
Process HAZOP: For continuous or batch processes, following the process flow. Based primarily on P&IDs but supported by other documents.
Procedural HAZOP: Follows the steps in a procedure to identify hazardous scenarios.
Computer or Controls HAZOP (cHAZOP): Looks at what hazardous scenarios can be caused by the control system
